Visiting Our Eastchester Pediatric Dentist
What to Expect
At Once Upon a Tooth, we provide the highest quality dental care for children of all ages, health needs, and backgrounds. If your family is visiting our Eastchester pediatric dentist office for the first time, here’s what you can expect:
Your Child’s First Visit
We recommend that children see a dentist for the first time by their first birthday or within a few months of their first tooth erupting, whichever comes first. During your child’s first visit to our office, we’ll take the time to get to know them and perform a gentle examination to assess their teeth, gums, and jaw for any signs of dental problems. Depending on the age of your child, we might also take a set of digital X-rays to evaluate developing oral structures. This visit is important to create a relationship with your family and child to help reduce the risk of dental anxiety in the future.
If you have any questions or your child requires care, Dr. Lis will discuss those matters with you during the visit.
For older toddlers and children, we will usually provide a teeth cleaning on the same day. Our team will also take the opportunity to educate you and your child about proper oral hygiene habits, including brushing, flossing, and healthy eating. We understand that good oral health starts at home, and we want to empower you and your child to maintain a healthy and happy smile.
Payment and Financing
We believe every child deserves access to high-quality dental care, regardless of their financial situation. That’s why we accept several major insurance plans, including policies like those through Aetna, Cigna, Delta Dental, Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Guardian, Humana, UnitedHealthcare and others. Our team will work with you to maximize your insurance benefits and ensure that you understand your payment options.
For those without insurance, we offer a range of payment options, including cash, check, and credit card. We also offer financing options through CareCredit, a healthcare credit card that can help you pay for out-of-pocket expenses.
